Three facing drug and weapons charges

Three Rome men were arrested following the recovery of a stolen firearm on North Broad Street at Camp Street.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

26-year-old Kaywon Da-Shawn Ian Gibson, 27-year-old Kamron Cyon Haywood, and 20-year-old Rory Lashun Chatman Jr. are all charged with theft by receiving stolen property.

Chatman was also charged with possession of drugs not in the original container, possession of drug-related objects, and possession of dangerous drugs after promethazine was found under his car seat.

Less than two hours later, Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force Officers executed a search warrant on Tolbert Street and located over two pounds of marijuana, three firearms, oxycodone pills, digital scales, and packaging materials.  One of the firearms had been reported stolen.

Gibson, Haywood, and Chatman are facing additional charges of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon as well as another count of theft by receiving.

Gibson was also charged with misdemeanor obstruction while Chatman is additionally charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance after he was found with an ecstasy pill.
