Man charged with felony obstruction, theft

A Lindale man is accused of kicking a police officer in the leg during an incident on Pullen Road Tuesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

20-year-old Jaythan James Wright took a camera from the front door of a woman’s house and was found with the camera when police arrived.

He then kicked the officer, causing a visible scratch.

Wright is charged with felony obstruction of law enforcement, battery, and misdemeanor theft by taking.

Woman accused of using stolen debit card info to deposit money on inmate’s account

A Rome woman is facing charges of identity theft fraud, financial transaction card fraud, and exploitation of a disabled adult following her arrest Tuesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

44-year-old Katherine Dianne Finn obtained the debit card information of the disabled victim and used it to deposit money on an inmate’s account using the jail ATM website.

The card was used 17 times between June 30 and August 17.

Man charged with entering an auto, financial transaction card theft, fraud

A Shannon man has been charged in the theft of items from a vehicle on Kings Court in Rome earlier this week.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

47-year-old David Ray Smith Sr. entered a 2007 Nissan Sentra and took a wallet containing a Chime financial card, between $50 and $100 in cash, a Georgia driver’s license, a Social Security card, and several other items.

He also used the Chime card to make purchases at two different locations totaling $91.53.

Smith was still in possession of the wallet when he was arrested on Monday for unrelated probation violations.

Man accused of stealing iPad, PlayStation from Walmart

A Decatur man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Tuesday on felony theft by shoplifting charges.

According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records;

33-year-old Paul Jerrard Jones took an Apple iPad, valued at $399, and a Sony Playstation, valued at $499 from the East Rome Walmart back on May 28.

Man facing DUI, drug charges

A Coosa man is facing drug charges after his vehicle was found stopped in the middle of Glen Milner Boulevard Tuesday afternoon.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

31-year-old Cameron Sterling Jones was found to be under the influence of multiple drugs.

A search of his vehicle turned up a grinder with less than an ounce of marijuana and several 25 mg THC capsules.

Jones is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects, DUI, and improper stopping.

Man charged with meth possession

A 46-year-old man was arrested at his East Hermitage Road residence on drug charges on Tuesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Dennis Lamar Hann was found with an off-white, crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine and a glass smoking device.

He is charged with possession of meth and possession of drug-related objects.
