Teen charged with fleeing or attempting to elude
A Rome teen was arrested Sunday after allegedly fleeing from Georgia State Troopers in a stolen vehicle.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Zion Sarterrius Davis lost control of the Honda CR-V while making a left turn on the wet roadway.
He then jumped out of the vehicle and started to run.
He was taken into custody on East 10th Street.
Davis is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, theft by receiving stolen property, misdemeanor obstruction, reckless driving, failure to maintain a lane, too fast for conditions, and driving without a license.
A passenger in the vehicle, 17-year-old Andre Lamar Allicott of Rome, also attempted to flee.
He is charged with misdemeanor obstruction and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
Man accused of fleeing from authorities
A 32-year-old Rome man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with fleeing or attempting to elude.
According to the warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
Jeffrey Estuardo Herrera-Chacon failed to stop his vehicle for police on Highway 53, traveling 99 miles per hour in a 65-mile-per-hour zone.
He then turned onto Bells Ferry Road, traveling 80 in a 45-mile-per-hour zone, before getting out of the vehicle and running into a wooded area.
Herrera-Chacon is also charged with obstruction of officers, open container, driving on the wrong side of the road, failure to maintain a lane, and speeding.
Report: Man into into altercation with woman after entering storage building
A 26-year-old Rome man was jailed over the weekend on charges of 2nd-degree burglary, criminal trespass, and simple battery.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Alejandro Serrano entered a storage building on Antioch Road in the Texas Valley area by prying open the lock.
He was confronted by the victim and an altercation ensued.
Serrano used his shoulder to strike the victim, who also broke two of her nails off during the confrontation.
Stolen vehicle leads to arrests
A Rome woman and a Cedartown man were booked into the Floyd County Jail over the weekend following a traffic stop on East Second Avenue.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
54-year-old Tonia Ridling Boone took a motor vehicle without permission.
She and 29-year-old Ty Alexander Hubbard were also found with marijuana, a glass pipe, and more than $200 in property that had been stolen from Walmart.
Hubbard had previously been banned from Walmart.
Boone is charged with theft by taking a motor vehicle and theft by shoplifting.
Hubbard is charged with theft by receiving stolen property and criminal trespass.
Both were additionally charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and possession of drug-related objects.
Man charged with felony obstruction, possession of drugs at jail
A 51-year-old Rome man is accused of reaching for a weapon as he was being put into handcuffs over the weekend on Fernwood Way.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Shane Lee Stokes was also found with four clear bags of suspected methamphetamine and a bag containing suspected heroin once at the jail.
He is charged with felony obstruction of officers, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, and possession of drugs past the guard line at the jail.
He is also charged with two felony counts of failure to appear in court.
Warrant: Man stole $1,600 in power
A Lindale man is accused of stealing electricity from Georgia Power.
According to an arrest warrant:
Power had been disconnected from the residence on Cedartown Highway, but there was an illegal connection to the power box.
25-year-old Joshua Nota Duncan benefitted from over $1,600 in utility services without paying.
He is charged with theft of services.
Summerville woman charged with felony shoplifting
A 32-year-old Summerville woman has been arrested on two felony warrants charging her with theft by shoplifting.
According to the warrants:
Alyssa Marie Teague stole clothing, paintings, a dinner set, curtains, bed linens, and comforters valued at $4,700 from the Bubazz store on Redmond Circle on July 7.
She then took $711 in merchandise from Ulta Beauty on Turner McCall Boulevard between July 24 and September 20.
Traffic stop leads to drug charges
A 26-year-old Rome man was arrested during a traffic stop Sunday on drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Joshua Corbin Adams was found with a white, powdery substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.
He is charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, driving under the influence, and driving without a license in possession.
Man arrested during road check
A Rome man was arrested during a DUI road check on Riverside Parkway at West Second Street Saturday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
38-year-old Marcus Antonio Duane Fain stopped his vehicle as he approached the road check and started backing up.
He then stopped and pulled up to the road check.
After officers smelled the odor of alcohol and marijuana, Fain’s vehicle was searched.
Three small bags of suspected marijuana were found along with two bags of suspected methamphetamine, a scale, and multiple individual baggies.
Fain is charged with possession of meth, possession of meth with the intent to distribute, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, improper backing, and DUI.
