The Rome City School Board has approved the school system’s 2025-2026 school calendar.
The calendar was revised somewhat following the First Reading in December.
“Some of the teachers had some concerns about the amount of days for pre-planning,” said Rome City School Superintendent Eric Holland during the December meeting.
The first day of school will be on August 1, 2025, and the last day will be on May 20, 2026.
Fall break will be October 13-17.
Schools will be closed for the week of Thanksgiving.
Winter Break is December 22-January 1 with an independent learning day on January 2.
Spring Break is April 6-10.
Students will also be off for Labor Day in September, MLK Day in January, and President’s Day in February.
Also, on Tuesday, Faith Collins was re-elected as school board chair.
“I certainly want to take just a moment to thank each one of you for allowing me to be the chair for another year,” Collins told the board following the vote.
Will Byington will serve as vice chair for the coming year.
