Floyd County Jail Records –

  • A 65-year-old Floyd County man was arrested on Sunday for charges related to terroristic threats and acts. According to Floyd County Jail records, Archie Lamar Waits of Rome was arrested at a location on Redmond Circle after he allegedly threatened to shoot and kill a paramedic while being treated for injuries inside an ambulance. Rome Police also reported that Waits was intoxicated during the incident. Waits is being charged with felony terroristic threats/acts, willful interference with emergency medical professionals, and public drunkenness.
  • The Calhoun Times has reported that two men have been arrested following an armed robbery at a Calhoun gas station. According to the Calhoun Police Department and Gordon County Sheriff’s Office, a person pumping gas at the Marathon station on the Highway 53 Spur last week on Thursday was robbed. CPD officers responded to the scene and an investigation led to the identification of one man, and shortly after 18-year-old Jordan Cordae Carter and 20-year-old Ekian Shamar Evans were arrested Friday and we were each charged with felony armed robbery. 
  • A 53-year-old Floyd County man was arrested on Sunday for charges related to trespass and drug possession. According to Floyd County Jail records, Sean Scott Salmon of Rome was arrested on North Broad Street after he was found entering a property without permission. Rome Police reported that Salmon refused to leave after being asked to resulting in his arrest. Salmon was taken to the Floyd County Jail where he was found to be in possession of Meth. Salmon is being charged with criminal trespass, felony possession of a controlled substance by a jail inmate, and felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
