Teens arrested after BB gun was pointed at woman in East Rome
Three Rome teens were arrested Sunday following an incident on Turner McCall Boulevard at East Seventh Street.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
18-year-old Cooper Eli Folsom had a BB gun and pointed it at a woman at a location on Turner McCall Boulevard at East Seventh Street.
He also threw water cups at two other victims and had two open bottles of tequila in his vehicle.
Folsom, 19-year-old Ahmari Jermaine Montgomery, and 19-year-old Jayden Brice Andrew Hames are all charged with aggravated assault, simple battery, and underage possession of alcohol.
Folsom was additionally charged with open container, DUI, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and a tail light violation.
Man charged with aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act
A Garden Lakes man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly put two male family members in chokeholds at his Trentwood Place residence.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
26-year-old Anthony Lachris Beeman also grabbed a female family member by the leg and attempted to pull her to the ground.
Beeman is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, and one count of simple battery.
Florida man accused of assaulting woman in Rome
A 65-year-old man from McDavid, Florida was booked into the Floyd County Jail Sunday on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, battery, and criminal trespass following an incident on Mt Alto Road.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Robert Allen Welch grabbed a woman’s throat, leaving red, visible marks, and then kicked a wheelchair toward the victim, striking and injuring her.
The woman also sustained visible swelling and bruising to her arm.
Welch also threw a large, plastic container at the victim, causing it to break.
He also damaged an item that was given to the victim by her deceased son.
Report: Man threatened kids with a metal pipe
A Rome man was arrested over the weekend at his Mardi Way home on charges of aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts, and 3rd-degree cruelty to children.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
30-year-old Tomas Cruz Valdez threatened to beat a couple of kids with a metal pipe at a location on Payne Road.
Teen arrested for prowling, possessing guns with altered identification
A Rome teen was arrested Sunday after he was found behind a vacant house on Sylvan Street at around 3 a.m.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
17-year-old Ethan James Boswell had firearms with scratched-off serial numbers.
He also tried to run for police.
Boswell is charged with loitering or prowling, possession of a handgun by a person under the age of 18, possession of a firearm with an altered ID, wearing a mask or hood to conceal his identity, criminal trespass, and obstruction of officers.
Three arrested in drug bust
Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force officers executed a search warrant at a home on Kennemore Road late last week and arrested three people on drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
28-year-old Anthony Chris Dupree had methamphetamine, a glass smoking, device, and a 9mm handgun.
He is charged with possession of meth, possession of drug-related objects, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and a probation violation.
31-year-old Cederick Cortez Carter Jr. and 35-year-old Jennifer Nicole Gonzales were charged with possession of meth.
Woman charged with burglary
A Silver Creek woman originally arrested on October 15 on charges of possession of methamphetamine, and possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute has now been charged in a burglary that occurred on September 25.
According to an arrest warrant:
34-year-old Shawna Brenae Stephens entered the Shorter Stop convenience store in West Rome after it was closed and took a computer tablet.
Stephens is charged with 2nd-degree burglary.
Woman accused of stealing Mercedes from car lot
A 32-year-old Rome woman has been arrested on a felony warrant charging her with theft by taking.
According to the warrant:
Destinee Dawn Crocker took a 2009 Mercedes Benz off the lot of a car dealership on West Butler Street on October 30.
The vehicle is valued at $8,999.
