Report: Woman arrested after lying in the middle of Shorter Avenue

Rome Police responded to a call about a woman lying in the middle of Shorter Avenue near Starbucks on Sunday.

According to a Rome Police Department report:

Vehicles had to go into other lanes to travel around the woman.

36-year-old Chelsea C. Otto told officers there was an emergency and she was lying on the street to pray.

She also told police that she does methamphetamine every four to six hours to stay awake but she did not like how it made her feel.

It was then discovered that Otto was wanted on out-of-state warrants.

She was arrested and charged with obstructing a public street and fugitive from justice.
