Alabama man arrested for assault in Rome

A Jasper, Alabama man was arrested following an alleged assault at an apartment on West 13th Street early Monday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

43-year-old Jeffrey Seath McClure strangled a woman and struck her several times causing visible injuries.

McClure also took the victim’s phone while she tried to call for help, broke her television, and stole her vehicle.

He is charged with aggravated assault, battery, criminal trespass, theft by taking a motor vehicle, and obstructing a 911 call.

Report: Woman hit another woman on the head with a piece of wood

A 31-year-old Rome woman is accused of assaulting another woman with a piece of wood.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Brianna Hope Baldwin hit the victim on the head with the object while the victim was walking down the concrete steps at the Fairbridge Inn on Martha Berry Boulevard.

The victim sustained a knot on her head.

Baldwin is charged with a felony count of aggravated assault.

Woman arrested for aggravated assault, child cruelty

A Rome woman was arrested Sunday following an incident at her Ashland Park Boulevard residence.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

35-year-old Dameria Ravonia McCluskey strangled a woman and confined her in the apartment.

McCluskey also caused a child physical or mental pain.

McCluskey is charged with aggravated assault, 1st-degree cruelty to children, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and false imprisonment.

Man charged with aggravated assault and battery

A Rome man was arrested Sunday at his Rising Fawn Trail residence on charges of aggravated assault, battery, simple battery, and 3rd-degree cruelty to children.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

29-year-old Elijah Grey Clark put his hands around a man’s neck with the intent to murder him.

He also punched a woman and spit in her face in front of two children.

Silver Creek man arrested on aggravated assault charge

A Silver Creek man was arrested at his Preacher Smith Road home late last week after he allegedly wrapped his hands around a woman’s throat, leaving visible marks and constricting the victim’s airway.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

38-year-old Casey Adam Chastain also pulled the woman’s hair and grabbed her shoulders, leaving visible marks and bruising.

He is charged with aggravated assault and battery.

Man arrested for assault back in September

A 33-year-old East Rome man has been arrested in connection with an alleged assault back in September.

According to an arrest warrant:

Ryan Keith Easterwood kicked in the rear door to a residence on Michael Taylor Court.

He then grabbed the victim by her throat as she was trying to prevent him from coming inside.

The incident occurred in front of two juveniles.

Easterwood is charged with aggravated assault, 2nd-degree criminal damage to property, 3rd-degree cruelty to children, and a probation violation.

Woman charged with exploitation of a disabled person

A 29-year-old Lindale woman is accused of using a disabled man’s bank card without permission.

According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:

Tessa Cheyanne Hughes used the bank card between August 1 and August 9 of this year.

She is charged with exploitation of a disabled adult and financial transaction card fraud.

Man charged with meth trafficking

A Lindale man has been charged with trafficking methamphetamine in connection with an incident dating back to October 2022.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

56-year-old Randy Thomas Myers used a cell phone to set up a drug deal and was found in possession of more than 28 grams of meth.

Myers is also charged with the use of a communications facility to commit a crime involving drugs.

Calhoun man arrested on drug charges in Rome

A Calhoun was recently arrested following a traffic stop on Maple Road at East 9th Street in Rome.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Police stopped a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Lafrancis Kesman Quartez Freeman for no headlights.

Following a K9 indication, synthetic marijuana was seized.

Freeman is charged with possession of synthetic marijuana, a headlight violation, and driving without a license.

Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

A 53-year-old Rome man was recently arrested on charges of cocaine possession and possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Ronnie Eugene Purdy Jr. was a passenger in a vehicle stopped on Highway 411 at Chateau Drive for an expired tag.

During a search, following a K9 indication, Purdy was found with cocaine and alprazolam.

Convicted felon accused of possessing firearm

A 41-year-old Rome woman has been arrested on a felony warrant charging her with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

According to the warrant:

A firearm was found in the bedroom of Emeritus Hutchenson during the execution of a search warrant at her Lindsey Road residence back on August 29.

Hutchenson had previously been convicted of a felony and was prohibited from having a gun.
