Two killed, one seriously injured in Gordon County wreck

Two people were killed in a single-vehicle wreck in Gordon County Friday evening.

According to the Georgia State Patrol:

The crash occurred around 11:45 p.m. on Highway 53 near Fairmount when the driver of a pickup truck lost control in a curve.

The pickup left the roadway, struck a rock, reentered the roadway, and overturned.

All three occupants of the truck were ejected.

26-year-old Kayla Crook and 17-year-old Brody Hightower, both of Fairmount, were killed,

23-year-old William Cannady of Talking Rock was airlifted from the scene to Kennestone Hospital in Marietta with serious life-threatening injuries.
