Report: Man tried to sell meth while under surveillance
A West Rome man was arrested Wednesday at Alabama Highway and Turner Bend Road for possession of methamphetamine and possession with the intent to distribute.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
32-year-old Terrance Tevin Williams attempted to meet and sell meth to another person while under law enforcement surveillance.
Williams is also being held without bond for a probation violation.
Man accused of selling stolen moped
A Cave Spring man arrested on July 18 on a couple of probation violation warrants has now additionally been charged with theft by receiving stolen property and theft by deception.
According to jail records:
42-year-old Walter Jefferson Simpson Jr. transported a stolen moped to Cave Spring where he sold it to the victim for $300.
The incident occurred on July 14, according to the report.
Atlanta man charged with possession of items prohibited for inmates
An Atlanta man is accused of having contraband while an inmate at the Floyd County Prison in March of 2022.
According to an arrest warrant:
28-year-old David Lopez had 45 grams of marijuana and over 15 grams of tobacco.
The items were discovered in a secret pouch sewn into Lopez’s shorts.
He is charged with possession of items prohibited for inmates and possession of marijuana.
Traffic stop for speeding leads to drug arrest
A 23-year-old North Rome man stopped for speeding on Highway 27 South near Georgia Highlands College was also charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance Wednesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
A vehicle driven by Zachariah Joseph Carter was clocked going 91 miles per hour.
Suspected THC wax was then located inside the vehicle during the traffic stop.
Summerville man arrested for meth possession
A Summerville man is facing a methamphetamine possession charge following his arrest at Highway 27 North and Highway 156 Wednesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
30-year-old Brandon Tyler Hullett was found with a clear, plastic baggie containing suspected meth.
Hullett had been arrested on an out-of-county warrant and is also being held for Acworth Police.
