Man charged with aggravated assault, child cruelty

A Coosa man has been arrested in connection with an alleged assault at his Dean View Drive residence back on July 5.

According to Floyd County Jail records and an arrest warrant:

51-year-old Pablo Espinoza-Cruz attempted to stab a woman with a knife in front of five children.

Espinoza-Cruz is additionally charged with five counts of 1st-degree cruelty to children.

Warrant: Woman told someone else’s vehicle for scrap

A 37-year-old Armuchee-area woman is accused of selling a vehicle for scrap without the permission of the owner.

According to the arrest warrants:

Stephanie Marie Jackson signed documents stating she was the owner of the 2003 Chevy Tahoe when she sold it to a local recycling business for $329.55 back on July 12.

The vehicle is actually valued at $5,000.

Jackson is charged with theft by deception and theft by conversion.

Alabama woman facing drug charges

A Cedar Bluff, Alabama woman has been arrested on multiple charges stemming from the execution of a search warrant at a Shorter Avenue residence back on June 27.

According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:

Psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana, pressed fentanyl pills, amphetamine pills, scales, baggies, and packaging materials were found in a room where 25-year-old Taylor Janet Owens was residing.

Owens’ Social Security card was located in a drawer below where the mushrooms were found.
