Calhoun woman was charged with child cruelty

A 34-year old Calhoun woman was arrested Sunday on charges of 1st-degree cruelty to children after she allegedly left her 11-month old baby unattended in a vehicle while she went into Walmart.
According to a Calhoun Police report, Angela Parker first told the officer that she just went into the store to use the bathroom.
However, she later admitted that she was shopping for her son’s Birthday party, the same child she had left in the vehicle.
Parker’s boyfriend, 44-year old David Gragg, was called to the scene to take custody of the child but it was discovered there was a warrant for his arrested for a probation violation.
The child was placed into the care of DFACS while Parker and Gragg were taken to jail.
