Hancock selected as chair of the Floyd County Commission

During Tuesday’s Floyd County Commission meeting, Scotty Hancock took the reigns as the 2019 Chair of the Commission.

Hancock was a county employee for eighteen years before joining the Commission in 2015.

"I started working for Floyd County as a prison guard and then transferred to the sheriff's office," he said.  "I was then transferred to animal control and was the director there and then was emergency management director.  I went out and worked for the private sector for a little while and then decided I wanted to run for county commission and I've been on the commission for four years.  It's been a long journey, but it's been a lot of fun."

Hancock, Rhonda Wallace, and Larry Maxey, who were re-elected this past November, were sworn in Tuesday by Probate Court Judge Steve Burkhalter.
