Armed robbery reported in West Rome

Rome Police are investigating a reported armed robbery at a business on Shorter Avenue Tuesday evening.

According to police reports, an employee at S&K told officers that she was sitting at her desk, doing her makeup when the front door alarm went off and a man entered the store.

The man was wearing a ski mask, some sort of dark-colored jumpsuit, and gloves.

He pulled out a silver pistol and demanded money, according to the employee, who gave the suspect $500 in cash and her cell phone.

The man fled and the employee ran next door to call for help.

A witness reported seeing saw a man run to a white car behind the business.

Video surveillance captured a man approach the store from the side, and after a short time, run away from the location.

However, due to the poor quality of the video, authorities were not able to identify the man.
